THE WINNERS OF TOMORROW: A STRIKING REVIEW OF THE TOURNAMENT ECOSYSTEM

Updated: Aug 30, 2022

Winners Beach Volleyball, thanks to our players and fans, is quickly becoming one of the most popular beach volleyball leagues in Eastern Europe. With a healthy dose of war-sports parity and nail-biting overtimes, our team is off to a thrilling start. Beginning September 1, 2022, we will implement significant changes to the Winners Beach Volleyball competitive ecosystem, improving the overall experience for both players and viewers.

More information on each ecosystem layer will be published throughout the year, but we'd like to show you where we're going. Are you all set?

SEASONALITY AND DIVISION TIERS

Beginning in September, a yearly Event Calendar will be divided into four seasons, each lasting three months. All seasons will include qualifying matches. Teams will compete against each other throughout the season; at the end of three months, the four teams with the most points progress to the Season Finale.

In August, all season winners will compete in the Winners Beach Volleyball Grand Finals.

Winners Beach Volleyball tournaments will also have a ranking system, matching athletes of a similar skill level to play with and against each other. It will comprise two tiers that indicate the athletes’ skill level: Advanced or Master.

BETTER PLAYERS AND FANS EXPERIENCES

We're developing a player-driven competitive ecosystem that will inspire future generations of beach volleyball stars. We understand the rising global audience's expectations and are here to meet them. Here's a preview of what's to come:

1. Open entry

Sometimes just watching isn't enough. If you have the skills, it's time to compete. An open tournament application form will allow every athlete to experience what it's like to compete like a professional while also allowing them to work toward their goals. We're thrilled to see how this approach, in addition to the standard ranking ladder, will help promote and highlight fresh talent.

2. Leaderboards

Competitors' personal track records will be presented on leaderboards and updated after each tournament. A player's ranking will be determined using a special formula and directly affected by the number of wins and losses.

With this feature comes the ability to track a player's performance from season to season.

Over the next few months, we'll share more information on each layer of the new ecosystem and apply all we've learned over the last year to push Winners Beach Volleyball events to the next level of tournament management.

We appreciate your support and want to stay in touch.
